In my own personal experience with the short answer - a resounding YES.
I do meditation as part of my QiGong practice daily. Even when I was undergoing treatment, I did do QiGong without proper training and even then I know it help me a lot. It gave me the 'fighting positive spirit' which I believe was instrumental in my recovery. Any don't listen to me, watch this.
