Baking soda really works

A few people have called me about my experience with baking soda and so I decided to make this post.

It has been almost 5 years now since I was declared "no cancer cells detected" but last March I found some lumps on the side of my neck. The doctors said they were too small to do anything but to monitor them.

It could be my lymph nodes enlarged due to stress, food and other things but it was they were constantly there. I decided I didn't want to take the chance. I decided to take just baking soda with water every morning (half teaspoon). After about 2 weeks, I notice the lumps reduced in size.

I was motivated. I wanted the lumps to go away. After a couple of months, they stayed small but were still there. I decided to add honey and increased the slightly more than half a teaspoon every morning. After 4 months, the lumps were not easily detectable now.

I am convinced about baking soda (and honey). I take this every morning just to keep the body alkaline in general.

I was worried about some stories about aluminium in baking soda. I researched and found that this was unfounded. Baking Soda is different from Baking Powder. Baking powder is processed and this may contain other ingredients like aluminium. So finding this out, I am taking baking soda without worries these days.

I hope my experience with baking soda will provide other people with some hope and as a remedy.

I had posted about baking soda (Bicarbonate of Soda) before in this link

Antibiotics and it's dangers

It is always tough when you are suffering or in pain and need to decide if you want to take the antibiotics that the doctor gave you.

Like most people I go see the doctor and in my part of the world, antibiotics are prescribed like they are candy.

My wife suffered from IBS because of antibiotics. This was almost 20 years ago. She complained of a major sore throat and one type of antibiotics after another was given to her. She was eventually cured of the sore throat but little did we know, her problems were just beginning. She started to complain of stomach cramps and this became more frequent and more intense. Of course every visit to the doctor meant more medications. Sometimes with more prescribed antibiotics. This went on for years. Finally, she said enough and started to investigate her problem and she later found out about Irritable Bowel Syndrome and traced it back to one critical episode. Today, she is still suffering from IBS but we have learnt how to manage the problem. She also became allergic to a lot of foods. She has kept a blog and an ebook to share her journey

Antibiotics like cancer chemotherapy. It kills all bacteria regardless of good or bad ones. It kills everything in the stomach and leave behind a long term problem. They also generate toxins in the body. When good bacteria are destroyed, we can have improper digestion, poor nutrient absorption and also damage the ‘safety wall’ in our gut against damaging viruses and other nasty things. Some these good bacteria have been known to generate vital Vitamins like B and K which our own body needs. Imagine that if we have these good bacteria, we have a free supply of vital vitamins. When the good bacteria is destroyed, the ‘safety wall’ in our gut is not strong or crumbling, bad bacteria and nasty thing like yeast will form and they cause a whole range of problems like IBS, leaky gut and allergies.

So what can you do if you have to take antibiotics to cure that ailment? Just replenish the gut. Take probiotics, yogurt, kefir, fruit enzymes and fermented foods like sauerkraut, kimchi, fermented toufo. Natural probiotics are manuka honey, garlic and onions. These will help in replenishing what you have lost. Even on good days, we should put these foods into the body to keep the gut healthy.

I remember reading an article that basically said something like this: “A healthy gut means a healthy body. Take care of your gut, it is the first place where nutrients are absorbed and bad things are expelled”

Growing and learning to live

I was going to skip reading but... something stop me.. and I read slowly...
reminded me of the episode when cancer visited me and I was fighting for my life.

You know. . . time has a way of moving quickly and catching you unaware of the passing years. It seems just yesterday that I was young, just married and embarking on my new life with my mate. Yet in a way, it seems like eons ago, and I wonder where all the years went. I know that I lived them all. I have glimpses of how it was back then and of all my hopes and dreams.
But, here it is... the winter of my life and it catches me by surprise...How did I get here so fast? Where did the years go and where did my youth go? I remember well seeing older people through the years and thinking that those older people were years away from me and that winter was so far off that I could not fathom it or imagine fully what it would be like.

But, here it friends are retired and getting grey...they move slower and I see an older person now. Some are in better and some worse shape than me...but, I see the great change...Not like the ones that I remember who were young and vibrant...but, like me, their age is beginning to show and we are now those older folks that we used to see and never thought we'd be. Each day now, I find that just getting a shower is a real target for the day! And taking a nap is not a treat anymore... it's mandatory! Cause if I don't on my own free will... I just fall asleep where I sit!

And I enter into this new season of my life unprepared for all the aches and pains and the loss of strength and ability to go and do things that I wish I had done but never did!!  But, at least I know, that though the winter has come, and I'm not sure how long it will last...this I know, that when it's over on this's over. A new adventure will begin!
Yes, I have regrets. There are things I wish I hadn't done...things I should have done, but indeed, there are many things I'm happy to have done. It's all in a lifetime.

So, if you're not in your winter yet...let me remind you, that it will be here faster than you think. So, what ever you would like to accomplish in your life please do it quickly! Don't put things off too long!! Life goes by quickly. So, do what you can today, as you can never be sure whether this is your winter or not! You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your, live for today and say all the things that you want your loved ones to remember...and hope that they appreciate and love you for all the things that you have done for them in all the years past!!

"Life" is a gift to you. The way you live your life is your gift to those who come after. Make it a fantastic one.

Cancer is normal

What an interesting title? There are two schools of thoughts.
1) Cancer is a rogue cells gone wrong.
2) Cancer is a mutation of our own body cells. It is the body's own mechanism in changing with the environment. This means the body system has become toxic.

I have mentioned a number of methods in this blog to be cancer free or at least lower the possibility of having cancer.

1) Keep your body oxygenated. The only way is to breathe deeply. I have written articles on this topic.
2) Keep your body alkaline. Cancer mutates in a acidic environment. How? Eat veges and fruits. Avoid meats, hormone induced products like cheese and milk, and all processed foods.
3) Stress management - lifestyle changes.

Anyway, here is an interesting video covering this topic.

BeetRoot to prevent cancer... and many other ailments

Beatroot - the 'magic' vegetable.

During my chemo treatment, my wife kept making beetroot juice for me to drink. Her recipe was

1) One beetroot
2) One carrot
3) One apple
4) One cucumber

All cut and put into a juicer. The outcome is a juice with soluble fibre. Much later, I was told by a Ayurvedic doctor to switch to blending rather then juicing. Anyway, I just found out that BeetRoot

"Cancer Prevention

Preliminary tests suggest that beet ingestion can be one of the useful means to prevent lung and skin cancer. Other studies have shown that beet juice inhibits the formation of cancer-causing compounds called nitrosamines.

The combination of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory molecules in beets makes this food a highly-likely candidate for risk reduction of many cancer types. Lab studies on human tumor cells have confirmed this possibility for colon, stomach, nerve, lung, breast, prostate and testicular cancers... "
I was really happy  when I read this article.
